A visualisation of family life and the positives and negatives that come with it. It was a way I could visualise my space within the family and come to terms with the fact that all these characters in my life have shaped and made me into the person I am. That is the reason all the characters in the scenes are based on my own face. It is coming to terms with the fact that the people around me make up who I am and that this is not necessarily a negative thing, as I can pick and choose what I want to take. This space is full of domestic and mundane stories and memories, which for me as an illustrator and creative is the most interesting to explore.

THE MAD HOUSE
The ‘Mad House’ was created during a self-initiated 3rd year project named ‘Authorship’, based on defining who you are and want to be as an illustrator.
The brief I came up with, relied on collecting family folklore and treating and responding to this collection it in the same way as I would with fairytales and folklore in the public sphere. From here I created 3 rooms that are a mish-mash combination of all the homes, rooms and spaces that have defined me as a person, filled in every corner with numerous stories, personal anecdotes and family proverbs.
‘The Mad House’ is made up of 3 hand drawn 360 panorama rooms: the hallway, the kitchen and the garden, based personal experiences around family and identity being intrinsically linked.
